The Pornstar Martini is the UK’s favourite cocktail! According to the CGA Mixed Drink Report, this tantalising vanilla vodka-based delight accounted for over 15% of all cocktail sales in 2019.

Already deemed a classic, it was invented at the turn of the 21st century by famous mixologist Douglas Ankrah at The Townhouse bar in Knightsbridge.  In 1999 Ankrah had founded the influential LAB bar, the London Academy of Bartending which has trained a generation of bartenders.

He first named it the Maverick Martini, after a club of the same name in Cape Town, but changed it to a Pornstar Martini and his creation rocketed to success.

At Juniper Place, our Pornstar Martini consists of Absolut Vanilla vodka and Passoa shaken together with lime juices and passionfruit syrup. We serve it with a shot of Prosecco on the side. Recipe below.

Pornstar Martini Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 ounces Absolut Vanilla Vodka
• 1/2 ounce of Passoa passion fruit liqueur,
• 2 ounces passion fruit purée
• 2 bar spoons vanilla sugar
• 2 ounces chilled Champagne/Prosecco, to be served on the side
• Garnish
• Half of a fresh passion fruit

Garnish:
Half of a fresh passion fruit

Method

Step 1. Combine all ingredients, except the Champagne/Prosseco, and shake with ice
Step 2. Strain into a chilled Martini glass
Step 3. Garnish with half a sliced passion fruit
Step 4. Serve with a shot of chilled Champagne/Prosecco on the side
